Compassionate Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Doctor with a unique journey from decades as a marketing director and graphic artist to the healing arts. A dedicated advocate for natural remedies, her approach is rooted in intuition and a commitment to uncovering the root causes of patients' ailments. Cynthia is a long-time advocate for self-healing and using nature to restore balance and align energy. She is passionate about driving positive change in legislation and raising awareness about the power of Chinese medicine, acupuncture and natural healing.
Cynthia is a California native and lives in Orange County with her 3 children. She is a Functional Wellness Practitioner who integrates nutrition, herbs, energy healing, aroma therapy and lifestyle coaching into her practice. She offers holistic healing services to help patients become physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually aligned. Cynthia uses her medical training and high level intuition to find and treat the root cause of patient's discomforts and suffering. Dr. Cynthia Powers graduated from Southern California University of Health Sciences with a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Degree. She is Board Certified and Licensed in California and a Board-Certified Diplomate of Acupuncture (NCCAOM)®.
Dr. Powers received the San Hong Hwang Technique Award for excellence, knowledge and ability in Acupuncture technique and procedures.
Cynthia currently serves on the Board for the California State Oriental Medical Association as a Professional Director. CSOMA is a professional association of licensed acupuncturists and supporters of acupuncture, dedicated to the preservation, development and advancement of the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
She is also a Certified Reiki Master, Certified in Applied Kinesiology and sound healing.​

Licensed acupuncturists are considered primary care providers

Licensed acupuncturists are allowed to practice acupuncture, electroacupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, heat/cold therapies, magnet therapies, laser therapy, perform massage and/or acupressure, prescribe herbs and supplements, teach breathing techniques including Tai ji and Qi Gong, engage in nutritional consulting, perform functional medicine and order and interpret functional lab tests and imaging

Acupuncturists are legally authorized to diagnose during treatment. We cannot, however, claim to cure disease

Licensed acupuncturists are allowed to order laboratory tests and to perform functional medicine and interpretation of these labs. Some acupuncturists work with low cost labs where they can order diagnostic tests for their patients who do not have insurance​
